About
My name is Jóhanna Birna Bjartmarsdóttir. I'm an Icelandic student at the University of Florida who is majoring in Education Science, minoring in Health Promotion, and dual specializing in Educational Psychology and Research, and Educational Technology. I'm also the founder and CEO of HARTS, an Icelandic ed tech company that helps institutions create accessible educational environments. Moreover, I am involved in 3 research projects at the University of Florida, one of them being a university scholar project. My research interests - inclusive education, accessibility design, instructional design, and mental health education - stem from wanting to help students like me get access to equitable educational environments. I'm also an advocate for students with dyslexia, ADHD, and autism, and you can find my conference presentations and interviews here. My aim is to be a role model I never had for students with learning disabilities and show that students with learning disabilities do belong and can excel in higher academia.
